Update on Staffordshire Energetic Communities Project

We’re pleased to share the nine communities we’ll be working alongside as part of our Staffordshire Energetic Communities project.

These places have been selected to give a balanced, Staffordshire-wide mix of:

  • Highest need and fuel poverty hotspots where support can make the biggest difference
  • Urban and rural communities, so we learn what works in different contexts
  • Areas experiencing multiple deprivation and communities that have historically had less funding and engagement
  • Places with strong local champions already active, so we can build momentum and scale what’s working
  • Communities with ambition but limited capacity, where a bit of structured support can unlock wider participation

Our nine communities are: Chadsmoor (Cannock Chase), Stapenhill (East Staffs), Boney Hay & Central (Lichfield), Chesterton (Newcastle-under-Lyme), Kinver (South Staffordshire), Highfields & Western Downs (Stafford), Leek North (Staffordshire Moorlands), Great Chell & Packmoor (Stoke-on-Trent) and Glascote (Tamworth).

Over the coming months, we’ll be listening first, then helping each area explore local energy opportunities, improve energy efficiency and shape practical, community-led plans that reflect local needs.

If you’re based in one of these areas and want to get involved, please drop us a message : projects@staffscommunityenergy.org.uk
